The Ahmedabad Vadodara Express Highway / Expressway, commonly known as National Express highway 1, is a major public transportation corridor that connects the Gujarati cities of Ahmedabad and Vadodara. The 95-kilometer expressway cuts travel time between the two cities from two and a half hours on National Highway 8, one of the country’s busiest highways, to just over an hour.

The first section of the National Expressway between Ahmedabad and Vadodara was dedicated to the country by then-Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in 2004.

Cars, jeeps, and other similar vehicles will have to pay Rs115 for a single trip, up from Rs110 previously. Commercial passenger and cargo vehicles, including as buses and trucks, would now have to pay Rs390 for a single trip, up from Rs380 previously.

For a single trip, trucks with 4 to 6 axles will have to pay Rs610 instead of Rs595 in toll duty.
