Khammam Devarapalli Expressway – Enhancing Connectivity in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh

The Khammam Devarapalli Expressway, designated as NH-365BG, is an under-construction 4-lane access-controlled highway project by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). It is a part of the larger Suryapet-Devarapalle Expressway (NH-365BB), spanning 221 kilometers and costing approximately Rs. 4,939 crore. This greenfield expressway, falling under Bharatmala Pariyojna (BMP) Phase 1, aims to improve local connectivity between Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam (Vizag), enhance freight movement efficiency, and boost exports.

Route and Connectivity:

The expressway will connect Khammam in Telangana’s Khammam district with Devarapalle in Andhra Pradesh’s West Godavari district, passing through the towns of Wyra, Kalluru, Tiruvuru, Sattupalli, and Jangamreddy Gudem. It aims to improve regional connectivity and facilitate smoother transportation between these key locations.

Land Acquisition and Project Progress:

The project involves the acquisition of approximately 1,996 acres of agricultural land spread across 31 villages. Land acquisition has been completed, and the expressway is currently under construction. It is expected to be completed and opened to the public in 2024.
