Mysore Madikeri Economic Corridor Project Information and Updates

Mysore-Madikeri Economic Corridor – Overview and Status Update

The Mysore Madikeri Economic Corridor, also known as the Mysore-Madikeri Expressway, spans a length of 115 kilometers. This NHAI-approved road project is a 4-lane semi access-controlled highway with a route alignment located in Karnataka.

Under the Bharatmala Pariyojana Phase I program, the construction of this predominantly greenfield corridor aims to connect Coorg, reducing travel time, and improving freight movement efficiency to boost exports.

The project’s feasibility report was prepared by Feedback Infra, and the land acquisition process commenced in 2020.

Included within this economic corridor is the 92.3-kilometer Mysore-Kushalnagara Expressway project. Its greenfield alignment will run parallel to the existing national highway NH-275, connecting Guddehosur to Srirangapatna and linking with the 119-kilometer Bangalore-Mysore Expressway project.

The foundation stone for this project will be laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in March 2023. Phase 2 of the project plans to extend it from Madikeri to Bantwal, located just east of Mangalore.

While NHAI has not yet made the Detailed Project Report (DPR) available online, the project is scheduled to be completed by 2026. Its objective is to reduce the travel time between Mysore and Madikeri from the current 2-3 hours to just over an hour.
