Nagpur Vijayawada Economic Corridor – Information & Status Update:
The Nagpur Vijayawada Economic Corridor, also known as Nagpur-Vijayawada Expressway, is an under-construction 4-lane access-controlled road spanning 405 km. It is being developed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and passes through the states of Maharashtra, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh.
The construction of this economic corridor, which combines both brownfield-upgrade and greenfield sections, is part of the Bharatmala Pariyojana Phase-I program. The main objective of the project is to enhance the efficiency of freight movement and promote exports by improving port connectivity.
The Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the corridor has not been made available online by NHAI. The project is scheduled to be completed by 2027.

Current Status:
Construction work is currently underway on the brownfield section of the corridor. Additionally, contracts for the Mancherial-Warangal-Khammam-Vijayawada section were awarded in March 2023, with a combined estimated cost of Rs. 7,500 crore.
However, the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for most sections of the project is yet to be finalized. Land acquisition, forest clearance, and environmental clearance processes are at different stages of approval.
