The Raxaul Haldia Expressway, proposed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), is a greenfield project aiming to connect Raxaul in Bihar’s East Champaran district with Haldia Port in West Bengal. This 4/6 lane access-controlled highway, part of the Bharatmala Pariyojna (BMP) Phase 2, seeks to enhance freight movement efficiency and promote exports from Nepal, Bihar, and Jharkhand.
The expressway, estimated to cost Rs. 54,000 crore, is anticipated to be completed and inaugurated in 2028. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the project has not been made available online, but NHAI received 13 bids for its preparation in June 2021, with a deadline of 300 days.

Current Status
