Solapur Chennai Expressway
The Solapur-Chennai Economic Corridor, also known as the Solapur-Chennai Expressway, is a 707 km, 6 lane partially access-controlled highway that will connect the states of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. The project is being developed under the Bharatmala Pariyojana Phase-2 program with a deadline of December 2025 and is expected to cost Rs. 15,000 crore.
The project is a mix of both brownfield-upgrade and greenfield sections, with the greenfield section spanning 230 km from Akkalkot to Mahabubnagar. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is the owner of the project and it is being developed using the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM).
