Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor
Haryana Orbital Rail-Corridor (HORC) is an upcoming railway project in Haryana, India that is expected to be completed by March 31, 2025. The twin-track railway line will run for 121.7 kilometers and follow the Western Peripheral Expressway (WPE) on the western side of Delhi. It will connect Palwal to Sonipat through Sohna, Manesar, and Kharkhoda, and connect with existing railway lines at Palwal, Patli, Sultanpur, Asaudha, and Harsana Kalan. Additionally, it will link up with the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC) at Prithala near Palwal railway station.
HORC project is expected to transport 20,000 passengers and 50 million tons of cargo per annum once it is completed. Haryana Rail Infrastructure Development-Corporation ( HRIDC ), a JV between the Ministry of Railways and the Government of Haryana – Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC), will construct the railway line. In September 2020, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs of the Government of India approved ₹5,617 crore (US$700 million) for the project.

Hisar International Airport
Airports-Authority of India is currently constructing the Maharaja Agrasen Airport expansion project in Hisar, Haryana. The second phase of construction is currently in progress with plans to upgrade the airport to an international airport by 2030.
The development project will include a new MRO, aerospace university, and aerospace and defense manufacturing industrial zone, logistics, and food parks, and more, across a 10,000-acre area. In the future, the Hisar Airport will be linked to the RRTS project’s Delhi – Bahadurgarh – Rohtak – Hisar line through semi high-speed train services, with an underground station planned for construction.
The expansion project will take place in three-phases, with Phase 1 already completed, Phase 2 including runway extension and MRO in progress, and Phase 3 scheduled for completion by 2030. The entire project covers an area of 7,200 acres and will bring significant growth and development to the region.

Delhi Panipat RRTS
The Delhi-Panipat RRTS Line is a proposed semi-high speed rail line connecting Delhi, Sonipat, and Panipat through tunnels and elevated viaducts. The line will be developed by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) and is part of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS). The maximum speed for trains on this line will be 160 km/hr, covering the entire distance of 103 km in 1 hour. The line’s DPR was approved by Haryana Government’s Cabinet in December 2020, and it is currently awaiting approval from the Delhi and Central governments. The line’s estimated cost is Rs. 21,627 crore, with an expected completion date of 2028. By 2031, the estimated daily ridership is 7.79 lakh passengers/day.

Karnal Ring Road
The National Highway Authority of India has given the green signal for the construction of a 34km outer ring road for Karnal under NHAI’s Bharatmala project. The estimated cost of the project will be ₹1,766 crore and ₹973 crore will be spent on land-acquisition from 23 villages including Kunjpura, Subhari, and Shamgarh. The project will have a logistic park on around 125 acres near Ganjo Garhi village and a flyover of 2.1km along with the railway road in Karnal will also be constructed. The width & length of the six-lane road will be 34km and 60m, respectively. The project is expected to provide relief to residents of Karnal and nearby villages.

Global City ,Gurugram Business District
The Haryana government’s Global City project, a futuristic ‘city within a city’, will be developed as a central business district in NCR. The project, being developed by Haryana State Industrial & Infrastructure Development Corporation, will be built over 1,000 acres near Manesar, and is a mix land-use township designed to tap Gurugram’s potential as a hub for the service industry.
With world-class infrastructure and high quality of life, the Global City will emerge as a role model for township development in India, and will be built on the Smart City concept. The city will offer office-spaces, residential towers, hospitals, hotels, an exhibition-cum-convention center, and retail outlets in a vibrant live-work-relax ecosystem.

Rapid Metro Expansion Haryana
The Gurgaon (Gurugram) Metro, also known as the Rapid-Metro, is a single line system consisting of 11 stations. Phase 1 of the project involved building a 5.1 km line to connect the Delhi Metro’s Sikanderpur Station with the DLF Cybercity business district. Phase 2 of the project extended the line by 7 km, connecting Sikanderpur Station with Sector 55-56 via 5 new stations on Golf Course Road. The entire line is serviced by 12 three-coach trains. On October 22, 2019, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation took over operations of the line after its original operator expressed its inability to run operations due to low footfall and high operational expenditure.
Numerous new metro lines have been proposed to connect Gurgaon with neighborhoods within Gurgaon, old Gurgaon, Dwarka, Bawal, Manesar, Faridabad and Sohna, but these are yet to be approved by the Haryana Government. The Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation is the nodal agency for executing these lines. The Gurgaon Metro has an approved route for a new line, which will run from HUDA City Centre to Palam Vihar via Moulsari Avenue, forming a ring line. The system specifications for the line include a top speed of 80 kmph and an average speed of 35 kmph.

Saraswati River Revival Project
Haryana Gov. has proposed the construction of a dam on the border with Himachal Pradesh for the revival of the Saraswati river, with a capacity of 224-hectare metre. The proposed dam will divert water from the Som river to the stream of Saraswati river from Adi Badri in Yamunanagar to Guhla Cheeka in the Kaithal district. The project, worth Rs 388 crore, also includes the construction of a barrage and reservoir. Adi Badri is a place in the foothills of Shivalik range, 90 km east of Kurukshetra. The Haryana government has allocated Rs 215 crore for the construction of the dam.

Manethi AIIMS
The establishment of new AIIMS-hospital in Manethi, Rewari Dist., Haryana, will provide a world class health care facilities to patients from Rewari , Mahendragarh , Bhiwani, Rohtak, Jhajjar, Mewat, Palwal, Faridabad, as well as Alwar & Jhunjhunu districts of Rajasthan. The 750-bed-hospital will have a medical and nursing college, ICU and super specialist facilities, private wards, trauma beds, Ayush beds, night shelter, guest house, and a 1000-seat auditorium, hostel and residential facilities. ThIs upcoming establishment of the AIIMS hospital in Haryana will boost medical education, nursing and health research in the state. The AIIMS Manethi project will cost INR 1299 crore .

FNG Expressway
After several disputes and delays spanning more than three decades, the Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad (FNG) Expressway project, connecting these cities and decongesting Delhi’s roads, is set to be revived by the governments of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. The Noida authority and other concerned agencies will undertake the construction of the 43km-long expressway, which was originally proposed in 1989 at a cost of ₹1,000 crore.
The project had been stalled due to disagreements between the two states over the funding pattern of a 600-metre-long bridge to be built across the Yamuna river near Noida’s Mangroli village. However, the two states have now agreed to share 50% of the bridge cost, with the Public Works Department (PWD) building the bridge and Noida and Faridabad sharing the cost.

Maruti Suzuki Mega Car Plant
Maruti, an Indo-Japanese-automaker, has secured an 800-acre plot at IMT Kharkhoda for its new manufacturing plant, capable of producing 250,000 vehicles annually, with the potential for future expansion. The Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation has allotted the land, and Maruti will invest Rs 11,000 crore in the first phase, with completion slated for 2025. Additionally, Suzuki Motor Corp has signed a deal with the Gujarat government to invest Rs 104.4 billion to produce electric vehicles and EV batteries in India.

Panipat Refinery Expansion
Indian-Oil Corp. Ltd. (IOC) has awarded a contract to Larsen & Toubro Ltd. to provide engineering procurement construction, and commissioning services for a new unit to be added to its previously announced project to expand crude oil processing capacity at its Panipat refining and chemical complex in Haryana. L&T’s hydrocarbon-onshore division will deliver services for the project’s addition of a 2.5-million tpy residue hydrocracking unit equipped with proprietary technology licensed by Axens Group. The contract, awarded on a lump-sum turnkey basis, is valued at 25-50 billion rupees ($313-629 million).

Karnal Medical College
In 2014, CM Khattar declared the establishment of a Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Medical University at Kutail village in Karnal that will offer the best possible medical training and patient care. Construction on the project began in 2020 with a deadline of January 2022 after it was granted to an agency in 2018, however much of it remained unfinished by that time. The institution will be built on 138 acres and contain research divisions, dental and pharmacy schools, and sports medicine in addition to a super-specialty hospital with 750 beds. Prime-Minister Narendra-Modi officially launched the project in 2019, and it should be finished by the end of 2023.

Helihub Gurugram
A new heli hub is set to be built in the upcoming Global City development near the Dwarka Expressway and NH-48. The heli hub will include aviation facilities such as a heliport, hangers, repairs and related services. It will be located near a metro corridor with easy access to industrial areas like Noida and Bhiwadi. The hub is part of the Union civil aviation ministry’s new helicopter policy, which aims to introduce heli-taxi services in the NCR region. The heli hub will be one of 10 proposed helicopter hubs and corridors and will provide landing and take off points for various helicopter services for the national capital.

Panipat Railway Station Redevelopment
The Rail Land-Development Authority (RLDA) plans to redevelop Panipat railway station using the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The objective of the project is to upgrade the station to global standards and offer modern amenities to commuters. The redevelopment project includes the conversion of the existing railway colony into multi-storey buildings with the spare land being given to developers for commercial development.
Panipat railway station is a major junction in Delhi-NCR area and serves the industrial town of Panipat. With 118 train stoppages daily, the station sees 40,000 passengers daily and is a category ‘A’ station with five platforms. Jind Hansi New Rail Line
The Jind-Hansi new rail line project, which will cost Rs. 923.26 crore and be finished later in 2024, got approval from the Haryana government in Year 2019. With an estimated 50 km of development, the project will offer quick and direct access between Jind and Hisar. It will span two current stations as well as six new ones, beginning at the Jind station on the Delhi-Bathinda railway line and ending at the Hansi station on the Bhiwani-Hisar railway line. Shamli Ambala Expressway
Shamli Ambala Expressway is a greenfield 6-lane fully access-controlled expressway being constructed as part of the Ludhiana Bareilly Economic Corridor. The project is expected to increase employment opportunities and stimulate socio-economic growth in the surrounding region. The expressway will stretch approximately 120 km and pass through 6 districts in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. The project is being developed under Bharatmala Pariyojana at an estimated cost of INR 3,693 Crores.

The 1256 km Amritsar-Jamnagar Economic Corridor, also known as Amritsar-Jamnagar Expressway, is a partially access-controlled highway under construction by NHAI. The highway will pass through Punjab, Haryana , Rajasthan, & Gujarat. 915.85 km of this highway will be built on a greenfield alignment, while the rest will be built by upgrading existing national highways. The project aims to improve the efficiency of freight movement and boost exports.
The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 80,000 crore, and the deadline for completion is December 2025. The project is being developed under the Bharatmala-Pariyojana Phase-I program, and its feasibility report and detailed project report were prepared by various consultants. When ready, the expressway will reduce the distance between Amritsar and Jamnagar from 1,430 km to 1,256 km, cutting down the travel time from 26 hr to about 13 hr. This exp will cover a distance of 85 km in Haryana state.
